Be Kind To Your Body

I have been educating myself about foods latetly, and how everything is processed in this country; and let me just say I am not very happy! ...

So, I decided to stop eating meat about 4 months ago; so far I am not craving it and I am loving this new life style. I am not a full vegetarian since I still consume dairy products; just trying to eat as less processed food as possible, and less meat.

While doing my research I came accross "THE KIND DIET" this book is written by Alicia Silverstone, I was very into it. Most of the things she explains in her book I was already aware of, but reading it again just gave me a HUGE reminder of why I choose this new lifestyle!... If any of you choose to make this big change in your life, please be aware that you have to be prepared for the mental, emotinal and physical change that comes with it.
If you are not ready for this committment, then take it slow :) and do your research and make the best decision for yourself and your family.

I totally recommend this book as well as this documentary called "FORKS OVER KNIVES"; it also explains how the meat world works and how it can affect your health and risks involved.

If you want to stay healthy and live a longer life, I recommend you to do certain changes towards your current lifestyle. If you are happy with the way you eat, look and feel. Then keep doing what you are doing :); but I think it is helpful for everyone to be aware of what they put in their bodies, and if you dont care... then good for YOU! LOL.. Sometimes I wish I didnt read all the things I do, I feel like the more I educate myself the less I wanna know! haha But in all honesty! it is better to be aware than not knowing at all.

After all, you are the only one who will live in your body until the day you die, some might die sooner than others because of their lifestyle! But! again.. IS YOUR BODY and YOUR CHOICES! so choose carefully!!

EDUCATE YOURSELF! AND BE HAPPY!!! :)

Honey, Clean Your Face!

Ok... last time I posted a home made recipe facial mask, most of you freaked out because my face was actually on the picture! haha. Not this time, just to avoid further heart attacks and people going into shock mode! haha

This time I will share a new way I found to clean my face, in a healthy way/cheap way.
I am lucky to have a lemon tree in my backyard! but if you are not as lucky; this is all you will need:

LEMON
HONEY

THAT SIMPLE! , put some honey on the lemon.. and scrub your face with it! Sure it might burn a little if you have pimples! But you will feel it right away!.

Totally recommend it!! TRY IT! and let me know how it goes!!

Shoot Your Husband!!

So, most of you might be thinking... WHAT!? SHOOT YOUR HUSBAND?.. haha YES! that is right!.

I have been planning to go do Paintball with my husband forever now!, I finally found this amazing offer on Groupon (because, I also try to save money like any normal responsible adult) haha. But anyway found this Groupon about a package to go do Paintball for 2, so I jumped all over it.
I've had it for a couple of months now, but I finally decided to make reservations and take Mike (my husband) and surprise him on a little afternoon date. It is fun to still DATE your husband after so many years together, it keeps the relationship fresh and not boring.

When we arrived to the place Mike was scared but yet excited, because he knew it was going to be painful (so did I)! haha. I told the lady at the place that I wanted to go against Mike and not have him on my team! and this is why!; haha I WANTED HIM TO SHOOT AT ME, and I WANTED TO SHOOT AT HIM! (sure call it build up frustration) haha But, it was sooo much fun. At first he wasnt so sure about shooting me, once we went out on the field! he was all about trying to get me! and shoot at me as many times as possible! haha.

This experience was so much fun! but the best part is that Mike was paired up with a random guy, and I was paired up with some other random guy, so when we all went out there, of course my partner was first one out (just my luck), so it was me against Mike and his partner, I made sure I stayed in my spot and shoot only when necessary!...Mike, eventually run out of paint so he had to get out of the game and at the end it was me and this random stranger shooting at each other. Again, he run out of paint as well hehe, so this mean I WAS THE WINNER!! at the end of all this! haha 3 boys againts one strong girl! ME!!! hehehe.

The whole experience was awesome, because it was not about me winning (maybe a little LOL) but it was about experiencing something new with Mike, and he realized that shooting at each other for fun WITH PAIN! wasnt too bad after all. Today is the day after this whole paintball incident, and I noticed I have a couple of bruises on me haha the excitment and adreneline helped me block the pain when I was shot at, but I am sure feeling it today haha.

Conclusion, do activities with your husband that is good for the two of you! and enjoy each other's company, because once you say I DO... it is just the two of you at the end of this whole so called "LIFE"..., kids grow up and live their own lives, and all you have is each other at the end, so if you have to shoot each other for fun then do so! and be HAPPY!! :)

Keep Romance Alive

I got into my car this morning and found a cute little love note from my husband! :).
Sure, sometimes I think he is not the most romantic guy ever; but I guess he has some potential haha (joke).

When I start getting in my mood swings, that means I am missing something in my life! and most of those times is a little romance! I am glad he knows how make me bounce back to "some kind of normal" haha with his thoughtfulness.

I used to read articles of people being married for many many years, and it was because they did little things for each other (like this) that kept them happy!. Who would've thought that a little love note in a car would make you smile and actually make your morning?! :) NOT ME!

As I grow older I realize being romantic and finding happiness in your relationship, is not about spending thousands of dollars on a gift; being romantic is about the little details and little gestures in life that make a couple happy.
For example; my husband knows I don’t like to do the dishes, so our rule is I cook-he cleans; when it comes to laundry, I wash- he folds and puts clothes away; with our daughter, I bath her-he changes her (or vice versa).

I love how we know what we don’t like and like about living with each other, this makes the living situation easier on us. Specially, if we already said "I DO" and we kind of have to live with each other for a while! haha. Might as well make it peaceful and fun right?...

I am not gonna deny it, I still got a LONG way to go my romantic ways; but I sure appreciate that my husband is thoughtful enough, because this helps me realize that I also have to do things for him to make him happy.

So, if you are married or have a boyfriend or girlfriend try to do something nice for them today! put a smile on their face. "write them a little silly love note"?... and Make someone's day better!! :)

Miracle Noodles!

This friend just totally made my day today!!!!... She posted this awesome food picture on Facebook. So I was interested on her recipe, because it looked super healthy and tasty! So she goes on to tell me that the noodles she used for this dish are FAT FREE, ZERO CARBS, ZERO CALORIES; I was in disbelief. Of course I had to Google it to find out more about them.
They are called MIRACLE NOODLES; so far it sounds too good to be true.
I am a noodle maniac! I could eat pasta every day of my life and my daughter can too. But we try not to because of the consequences of CARBS! So, for this friend to share her recipe is like a dream come true to me LOL. I will order these TODAY! And try them ASAP.
If you are a noodle maniac and are scared of carbs like I am, you might want to give these a try.
Good luck!! J

Memorable Wedding Picture

Weddings are fun, special and memorable; but nothing like a good memorable picture!
I am a newlywed and having my daughter at our wedding was the most special part of that day. She got to see her mommy and daddy re-confirm their love for each other, and I am very blessed she was there that day to witness it.
Well… when it came time for pictures she was already tired and hungry. It was around lunch time and her nap time, so my toddler was feeling it! Haha (pretty sure you can relate if you have kids). So while taking pictures she was not in a very good mood, and was not very happy.
So for us to have a family picture like this on our wedding day, I think is amazing! Haha.
Every time I look at this, it makes me smile and reminds me how special she is and how much happiness and joy she brings to our lives.
With that said, enjoy every moment and every picture with your kids! Because they grow up too fast and every moment is special and memorable! Just like this picture!! J

$5 Saving Plan

I found an article about a lady who saved up to $12,000.00 by doing this funky but yet awesome method.
Most of us do not carry cash around most of the time, because of this so called convenience and technology of using our DEBIT/CREDIT CARD. Well, I encourage you to start taking money out of your bank account and start using cash more often, not only to apply this saving method, but also to avoid IDENTITY THEFT!
Yes, this happens to a lot of people! just by one little swipe strangers can get your card information ! (IT HAPPENED TO ME!).
So, this is how this works:
**Every time a $5 bill comes into your possession, you will put it in your little saving magical “jar”**
THAT SIMPLE!
I personally have been doing this for about 5 months now, and I notice the difference in my jar!. I am all about saving extra cash; I sometimes throw coins and $1 dollar bills in there as well… HEY it can’t hurt right? Hehehe
Even my 3 year old daughter knows that every time she finds coins around the house, parking lots, cars… she knows to  hold on to them until we get home to put them in our JAR! It really makes her day every time she puts money in our jar. This is not only helping us save, but it is also helping her learn the concept of SAVING MONEY J
So try this little method and you will thank me later J

The Joy of Having Pets

If you love animals you will understand that pets bring joy and happiness to families all over the world. But, this happiness is also connected with a lot of responsibility.
This weekend I learned my lessonL; our poor little Dexter (black lab) was not feeling well, doc said they were going to have to open him up to figure out what was up with him. Turns out he chewed on one of his toys and it was blocking his stomach and almost reaching his intestines.
Of course reasonable thing to do is to open him up and get him better ASAP. Thank gosh we are blessed to have somehow of the financial means to make this happen.
BUT! Most families are not as lucky and can’t afford such a responsibility/surgery and it is sad that families have to go through this when all they want is their pet to get betterL.
Our baby boy is now getting better and recuperating from such long weekend.
Most importantly, this weekend I learned that no matter how much a surgery costs, my husband is willing to make our family happy! And I am thankful that he has such a big heart and is so caring. *cough cough* I need to learn more from him in that aspectJ.
Over all; if you took the ownership and responsibility be a pet owner; then, you will try your best to make your pet happy and make your family happy.
Learn to enjoy and love your pets! Because just like anyone else in your life; they will not always BE THERE!!!

Groom's Cake

I had never heard of such thing as a Groom's Cake; until my husband's cousin's wedding!
The day of her wedding there were 2 cakes at her reception and apparently one was ALL for the groom???...

I thought this idea was super cute and decided to ask my soon to be husband if he would want one, his answer was "OF COURSE, BUT I WANT A COOL CAKE!!", so I said to myself, great! now time to get creative LOL. I told him I was going to think about it, but it was not for sure that he was going to get one (this was part of the surprise, I already knew I was getting it!)

Well... I finally got it!, he sure loves his beer and he sure loves his sports (typical guy) why not put them together?.. BUT I wanted to surprise him on the night of our rehearsal dinner and not on our wedding day, that way is less expected.

I actually pulled it off!! I came up with the design and the logos! and it worked out great!, the night of our rehearsal dinner after everyone was done with speeches and eating dinner it was time for dessert!.
TIME TO BRING OUT THE CAKE!... when he saw it for the first time he almost cried!! I was so excited! and happy that he appreciated this cake.

So! with that said, ladies!! if you are planning a wedding, please make sure to please your groom and surprise him with an awesome CAKE like this one! :)

Aspirin Mask

Please dont be freaked out by the picture! haha. BUT! this is just to show you how the Aspirin Mask works :)
I came across this little recipe and it works wonders!

Ingredients
2-3 ASPIRIN PILS
Couple drops of water

Instructions
Dissolve pills in water, and apply to face

Very simple! it helps acne, oily skin. It will start drying out on your face, when that happens go ahead and wash it off.

Try it and let me know how it goes!!

TRASH THE DRESS

I decided to "TRASH MY WEDDING DRESS".

Most women keep their wedding dresses in the closet forever and never wear it again!

Tradition says your daughter is suppose to wear your dress... to be honest I would love for my daughter to pick her own dress and have that feeling of "YES!! THIS IS THE ONE!" I wouldnt want her to wear mine! LOL... not trying to be selfish! is just that I want her to have HER MOMENT TOO!..

So, with that said I decided to have a paint fight with my husband and thank gosh he was all about it! hehe  so here is our little experiment! hope you all enjoy it!!!
